It would be more accurate to call it a healing journey through which Joseph is a gentle, compassionate, and confident guide. In my most recent massage I experienced a profound emotional release that felt like stored up grief. I felt safe enough to sob into the face cradle without shame, while Joseph gently and wordlessly continued to help me move through the sorrow that I my body has held onto for more than a decade. I shared my massage experience with my mental health therapist and she asked when my next massage was going to be, explaining to me that this type of somatic work is important to incorporate into the entire trauma healing process.
